Seems like you should take his deal when he first offers it but bargain for something like being his enforcer or some position that allows for autonomy. The tadpole could trigger any moment and if it does so, then no afterlife at all for you. Better to live in Raph's employ than become nothing in a universe where the afterlife is known and gods are real and reward faithfulness.

>then no afterlife at all for you
I thought your soul left your body after ceremorphosis moved past its initial stage?
I'm talking DnD lore btw, not whatever the fuck was said in BG3. That game's entire tadpole plotline was retarded: The party could've just taken turns crushing their each other's heads, killing the tadpole, and resurrecting themselves.

>"You should take my deal"
>try to immediately accept
>"lmao actually you should think on it"
What's the fucking point of making the offer, then?

it couldn't trigger at any moment, the absolute prevents it from happening in order to have followers. you just think it could because that's what normally happens.

Correction: The party could've just taken turns crushing each other's heads, killing the tadpoles within, and resurrecting each other

>The party could've just taken turns crushing their each other's heads, killing the tadpole, and resurrecting themselves.

This is why 5e resurrection rules are retarded. It's far too easy to revive someone when it should be a very demanding process.

to give you the illusion of choice, like most of the game's choices try to do, then quietly shuffle the field to pretend it mattered

Except you literally cannot. The writers didn't take that into account.
He literally goes "oh no no no that's too easy, I'll see you again when you exhaust every other possibility forr cure" on you for no reason (because he read the script).

Resurrection is a 7th level spell, you don't have access to it when you're lv 3 schmucks (disregarding Gale because he absolutely could afford it but that's just plothole upon plothole regarding his wealth)

And if the tadpole eats your brain and turns you into a mindflayer you need a True Resurrection because your body is no longer "you" it's the mindflayer which absolutely is out of range for you at any point outside of the very end of the game

>You touch a creature that has died within the last minute. That creature returns to life with 1 hit point. This spell canโ€™t return to life a creature that has died of old age, nor can it restore any missing body parts.

Revivify doesn't restore the part of your brain that got damaged in the course of removing the tadpole so by actual D&D rules it wouldn't work

How would the game have played out if they actually accounted for you taking the deal at that point and after doing so were immediately tasked with retrieving the crown for him and learned everything about the 3 chosen and the brain?
