I beat it on game pass. If it came on cartridge I would've bought in on Switch 2 just to show support and boost it a little.

The first kanji denotes something that is both awe-inspiring and to be feared which is a combination I don't think we have a word for in English, while the second refers to the sound of weeping or wailing. "The dreadful wail" would at least capture some of that and could be shortened to "the wail". I don't know where the fuck they got "the seethe" from because it's not even close.

maybe terrible (i.e. Ivan the Terrible) although nowadays it's usually taken to just mean "it sucks". dreadful is probably the best bet like you said. maybe "the dread" for short. I imagine the seethe was an attempt to combine the dreadful and wailing aspects into one word like steam escaping from an angry chudjaks ears but with seethe meaning "to be mad like a little bitch" in current use it doesn't really land well

It's a combination of strategy/tower defense and an action game. On each map the the goal is to protect a shrine maiden and guide her to the map's exit. The character you controls plays like a simple action game character. There are also villager NPCs on every map that you assign a role to (melee fighter, ranged fighter, spellcaster, etc.) that fight on their own wherever you've positioned them.

There's a day/night cycle. During the day you gather resources on the map, assign roles and position the villagers, and build some defensive structures. At night the enemies come out and they go straight for the shrine maiden, unless they have something else to attack, and you and the villagers have to kill the monsters to stop them from killing the shrine maiden. The maps can be big with enemies coming from multiple spots at the same time, and the player character doesn't move that fast, so you can't deal with all of the enemies on your own. The fun of the game comes from fighting the enemies efficiently on your own while also keeping track of the map state and delegating effectively to your villagers.
