This shit has only 1 use case.
Framegen for framerate capped emulated games.
Because the image quality with this software is awful I would not use it for anything else.

Lmao brownoids still trying to push this shit? If your base fps is shit, the framegen wont improve anything and the input lag will show you that

i find it more useful for upscaling 720p to 1080p more than anything, make games look a little better at 720p instead of smearing my screen with fake frames or have the occasional "hallucination"

Wrong
There's weird japanese badly coded games that are also capped to 60fps but don't quite reach it for some reason.
I have at least 2 or 3 of those in my steam library. This does help a lot with them because no longer does shit look stuttery.

It's nice they added a target frame feature.
However now I want a skip duplicated source frame feature, some emulators for some reason output everything at 60fps even if the game is running lower, fucking the program from working correctly.

I've seen people say that using this, or DLSSFG/FSRFG at sub-60fps looks and feels good.

They also think those interpolated 60fps anime fight scenes look good.

What the fuck is wrong with these people? Just lower your damn settings or just accept you can't run the game at all.

It's better than AFMF 2.1, though I only find 2x frame generation playable in the games that are actually still playable with the input lag. AFMF just barely works. FSR frame gen is better.

Nope. I want to play games on my potato. I will use LS/DLSS.

I managed to play KCD at 1680p>4k while getting playable framerates all the way through with a shitty R5 2600x. LS1 beats every other spatial upscaling method.

friendly reminder, your game needs to run AT LEAST at 60fps before framegen for it to not look like shit
it's only a tool to reach 120fps or more from 60, it's not going to make your shitty toaster run games at 60fps from 30 or less
for example here's a frame generation screenshot on the steam deck, that garbage is too weak so the results are unplayable

It saved my poorfag ass. Now I almost wish I had an integrated graphic chipset on my MB so I could dedicate it to run LS. It's definitely a blessing for old games with capped FPS and emulators.

>>712837120
Ghosting is not really noticeable if your base FPS is above 40-50fps. It varies a lot depending on the kind of game of course. It's not good on any fast paced FPS for example.

>>712839263
>Input lag remains
Unnoticeable if the framegen doesn't go above X2 or X3, and if your base FPS is already good enough (let's say 60 FPS).

Upscaling always has ghosting. It can only be mitigated, it never truly goes away.

this thing worked a lot better than the Xenoblade X DE 60 FPS mod. Also very useful for old games where you want to scale up the smaller window, not have tiny ass text and icons, like if you try to play Lunatic Dawn on anything modern

I was playing civ4 colonization mods and they wouldn't hit 60, a stuttery mess.
Then I used 3x framegen from 48>144fps and it was smooth as butter. Lag doesn't hurt much depending on the genre.

Why some people get mad at this? If you can get all those frames without using it, fine. This is perfect for people that can't and doesn't care about accuracy. This is like the people that get mad at emulation that just works but isn't "accurate" like it used to be 20 years ago vs emulation now that is ultra accurate but can't run in potatoes.

thats cap, my helldivers struggles to reach 30fps and with 2x framegen i reach 60fps easy without noticable input lag and it looks smooth as hell. Obviously dont be retarded and do it with a competitive game. (no helldivers isnt a competitive game).

Maybe I was wrong the whole time. I apologize and kneel.
When the real framerate goes below 30 though everything goes to hell, ghosts everywhere and the game runs in slow motion but it's nice to know that anything above 30, preferably closer to 45 runs perfect for my poorfag system. I don't even notice any input lag either.
And >>712835373 is right too, this is a godsend for emulated games capped at 30 FPS, fuck buggy 60 FPS patches that break the game's physics and whatnot.
