Is this a good way to play the first three sonic games or should I just emulate the genesis versions?

Hey cabinbro. I'd say SMCP is a good entryway to the series but be aware the emulation quality is meh and if you want to save/load states it'll take a long time.

Wait hold on and let me answer the thread question, I emulated Sonic 1(I used a cheat to give me all the chaos emeralds at the start) I emulated 2 too but I used this rom hack (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2137/) because the super sonic glitched pisses me off(and I used the level select cheat to give me all the chaos emeralds cause I hate the special stages) and for Sonic 3 I played with Sonic 3 complete

Hey Cabinbro. I have this exact game sitting on my TV stand right now. It's a decent way to experience it. Sega genesis with a CRT would be the full experience, I guess. Speaking as someone who is old enough to have experienced all of this

Sonic 1 Forever
Sonic 2 Absolute
Sonic CD Christian Whitehead rerelease
Sonic 3 AIR
then Sonic Mania
Dont play Sonic Supershits.
