why do first party companies refuse to use hall effect/TMR joysticks?

As a person that knows this shit and repairs consoles and items all the time for fun. Their fix is no fix at all. It will be more durable, about as much as Sony and MS last few controllers offerings. It offers nothing on the level of magnetic sticks.

In fact I bet their forced use of magnets to hold the joycons on is why they didn't go hall effect.

Several first party had hall effect. Vita 1000 and Dreamcast did.
