do you drop a game if it begins to make you frustrated?

No? That's part of the whole fun of video games. The only time I do is when the difficulty is clearly bullshit, like Ghosts 'n' Goblins.

It depends on the source of the frustration. If it's a fun, interesting game that is very confusing or difficult, that will simply motivate me to learn more and increase my enjoyment of the game. If it's frustrating because it's boring me or because it's poorly written, then I'm very likely to drop the game.

Some games are for people who want to feel the satisfaction of overcoming a problem without actually doing so. These are children, manchildren, or reprobates. Some games are for people who want to overcome problems, and those games give them problems to overcome. The satisfaction is genuine and packs a bigger punch.
