It's a pretty funny joke. Finally, faithful remake models!
It would be nice if they had some non-joke outfits though, like the party getting their Cold Steel era looks, or Daybreak for Zin.

Imagine if, when you use the standard camera like in the previous game, the models look like this when viewed from a distance, but are morphing in real time when you return to the free camera.

I don't like it, it feels like they exist to make this art style feel like a punchline, which wasn't something I felt when playing the original.

Character models and animations look good, but the environments look very cheap and ugly. Plus, since it's nu-Falcom I'm sure it'll be bloated to hell. FC is a smooth 35 hour ride but the remake will probably be 60 hours or more.
