yes, kcd2 recaps the main events of the first game, but you won't have the context of who some of the characters are. you should play kcd1 at some point anyways because it's really good.

it really isn't that bad, it just has a learning curve. i think it's kind of fun, honestly, and the combat in 2 is not as challenging.

I love the game but that is plain false
It's an open world rpg so there are many flaws but there's also a lot of things to love from setting to characters to landscapes.
It if clicks with you it's probably one of the best games ever made
