Literally anything that used the touchscreen or motion controls, which is like, half the library including some first-party games. Hope you werenโ€™t planning on playing stuff like Mario Maker 2 or World of Goo unless you enjoy frustration as a gameplay mechanic. Itโ€™s like buying a guitar and chopping off two strings because โ€œmuh minimalism.โ€

If I could buy a screen less, battery less switch 2 for $150 less I totally would.
>>712868050
the problem is many games for Vita were designed to use the touch and gyro gimmicks, and it was decided to make the PSTV later on after it was too late to guarantee they all worked with traditional controls. Would have made more sense to give the Vita an HDMI port and allow you to pair a wireless controller.
You could say PSTV was streaming box first and a game console second. However it renders everything at the Vita's screen resolution then scales it to the TV screen size, including streaming video, and the output is limited to 1080i or 720p so it had horrible image quality. This applied not just to games but also to streaming services, so it was the worst streaming stick you could possibly buy on top of being a horrible game console.
I got one when the prices crashed to $25 and still I never use it. I probably should sell it since people are paying for these. I will never understand why some say this is a good way to play anything. Are they fucking blind? Not Vita, not PS1, not emulators, not videos. Nothing. This device is a useless abortion and a complete disaster.

Unlike PSTV, a screenless Switch 2 could actually work fine with the existing controllers, and it's already designed to work on TVs. It would be a good idea.

Hardly anyone even knows the switch has a touch screen. Mario Maker 2 uses controller. And I looked up World of Goo (can't believe you are using a 2008 game as a leading example) and it uses gyro pointers. I don't think a handheld-only switch game exists.

I know there is some weird tabletop mode in Club House games and Mario Party but NOBODY has ever used it because you need multiple switches. I won't cry myself to sleep missing out on a shitty minigame

Mabey in some alternate timeline they would do it, but that would be admitting the switch 2 was a failure. Also they would rather charge you $450.

As much as I don't like nintendo, I think the switch's transformer idea is great. It just need to get better hardware.
I hope some other manufacturer expands upon the idea, like microsoft making a portable xbox which gives you shitty graphics but ok performance but then you can dock it to a stand with an eGPU connected to the TV and get 4K60fps.

Any pics? Can't seem to find any samples.

I wonder if there's some guy who takes broken switch screens and refurbishes them as screenless switches. Would be a niche market but since Switches are $300 new you could probably flip them for $100. Now that Switch 2 is out though I don't think it's viable.

Yes the switch was a failure as a home console and the switch lite shows they doubled down on mobile. A switch home would signal the switch 2 was a failure for mobile gaming just like the vita.

I was thinking Nintendo should make a dock-only Switch just to fulfill a niche for those that want it. The R&D cost probably is not worth it in the "fuck you caca" era. Iwata might have done it.

you literal sony of california cucksucker
its a vita tv not a ps tv
it was california branch that hated the psp and wanted vita to just be a streaming device for ps3 and ps4 and did everything they could to neuter it and not let games be made for it
they even went as far as making a successor that only streams ps5 games to finally get what they want cause they are sore losers who never managed to do it with the vita
also fyi I hacked my vita tv and yes it runs emulators, psp and ps1 games and much more. even runs the games that didnt run on it officially. the california bastards tagged most games with touch controls to be unplayable even if the touch controls were fully optional.

I just said Sony made a useless abortion of a device that was good at neither gaming nor streaming. How do you get the idea I am sucking their dick from that? I also modded mine but that doesn't fix the horrible image quality and inappropriate resolutions. At best you can get black bars instead of bad scaling.

I was seeing that too but it actually keeps the screen. Most pictures hide that. And it adds a fan so you can overclock your switch. This makes it much larger than the original switch. Basically the opposite of what I want
