If I could buy a screen less, battery less switch 2 for $150 less I totally would.
>>712868050the problem is many games for Vita were designed to use the touch and gyro gimmicks, and it was decided to make the PSTV later on after it was too late to guarantee they all worked with traditional controls. Would have made more sense to give the Vita an HDMI port and allow you to pair a wireless controller.
You could say PSTV was streaming box first and a game console second. However it renders everything at the Vita's screen resolution then scales it to the TV screen size, including streaming video, and the output is limited to 1080i or 720p so it had horrible image quality. This applied not just to games but also to streaming services, so it was the worst streaming stick you could possibly buy on top of being a horrible game console.
I got one when the prices crashed to $25 and still I never use it. I probably should sell it since people are paying for these. I will never understand why some say this is a good way to play anything. Are they fucking blind? Not Vita, not PS1, not emulators, not videos. Nothing. This device is a useless abortion and a complete disaster.
Unlike PSTV, a screenless Switch 2 could actually work fine with the existing controllers, and it's already designed to work on TVs. It would be a good idea.
