There are more on the way, if you thought we'd seen the brunt of it we're just at the tip of the iceberg. All the ones we've seen so far which have come and died were just early adopters, but now you're starting to see the much bigger players get into it. Publishers are seeing extraction shooters as the Next Big Thing after battle royales and are all going to hop on it making their own variation

Hi anons, I've actually played nearly all of the recent extraction shooter craze, and i'm a long time player of the original inventory manamgement simulator (tarkov) that was digital crack that made you hate yourself.

Arc raiders is the only one i found fun. I have friends who say the same. The game is just well designed and didn't make me hate myself by playing it like tarkov did. I think most extraction shooters are going to flop, but i'll be playing this one in the hopes it does not.

I really don't get what's got reddit so hyped on this, played it and it's just PUBG extract. Level design is giant field or gisnt warehouse, it's got "junk loot" aesthetic. It will likely pull a finals where the shills push it hard to have a semi big release, then quickly become unpopular.

Meant bigger players as in bigger devs and such developing ES of their own. Probably hoping to attract people from BRs and such towards ES as it can be seen as an evolution of them and so the Next Big Thing. Of course they don't realize it's a very polarizing and highly sweaty genre and it's core audience are really just Tarkov players as you said who might try out something new and fresh and then scurry back to Tarkov when there's a new wipe

I must admit why some people like these games "clicked" with me playing this and marathon tests. I do think it's too polarizing to be as big as BRs or CoD or even hero shooters, which is what companies want. I would like to enjoy one, but didn't like this and marathon is unfinished and is gonna flop. I'll be keeping an eye in the genre but doubt one that would be my favorite will come out.

I kinda like it. But then again this is my first extraction shooter.
Everything else seemed so bland but at least this one has an interesting setting.
Though I do wish they stayed with their original idea of it being a PvE focused game.

It's snagged a few particularly popular streamers who jack it off endlessly to their fanbases, there was even enough fans to bitch at the devs after Games Fest for not announcing another limited beta that weekend they responded to it. Chances are it'll do okay for a couple months before they all burn out on it, certainly popular enough it'll bury Marathon at least
