Very cool looking light rays. The modern "developer" can't comprehend doing an effect like this without gaytracing or other such overhyped technology.

You really like slideshows, don't you?

You really wanted a slideshow on a weaker console, instead of the game at its absolute potential? It not being on PS3 was the best decision, since PS3 was the only PlayStation I never owned (due tl a factor of price, bad ports compared to Xbox 360, that console generation being longer than usual but didn't know or realize it at the time).

It looked better on PS3. They fucked up the graphics when they transitioned to PS4. Better frame rate is nice, but I can live with a slideshow if necessary, as I did with SotC on PS2.

I like puzzle platformers too but let's be real, ico is extremely barebones. Only the simplest pushing block puzzles and you don't even have to actually figure anything out. If you sit around long enough yorda will walk over to whatever you need to interact with.
Ico is one of those games that's really nice to look at and think about but quite dull to actually play.

All Fumito Ueda games are graphically outdated on release and still run like absolute dogshit. He never released a game that was up to standards and managed to run more than 25 FPS. How is he doing it?
The games themselves are very good, though.

Ico was kind of interesting at it's time of release, but overshadowed by Shadow of the Colossus overall. Anyone that suggests otherwise are just trying their hardest to pretend that SOTC wasn't the real achievement.

Not the latest nightly. I'm on v2.1.190. If the nightly is giving you issues, try the version I'm on. PCSX2 has huge regressions all the damn time, it wouldn't surprise me if this game is just broken on newer versions.
I'm not using any patches. I tried a 60 FPS patch but it was weird buggy as fuck, so I'm just raw dogging it at 30 FPS (PAL version in 60 Hz mode)

Ico is, simply put, the poster child for "graphics over gameplay". It looks impressive for five minutes, then you'd rather do something else than look at proto-Uncharted 1 with worse graphics and no Nolan North to keep it interesting.
