It's basically useless. It's not bad, but a normal person doesn't need a handheld anyway if you aren't sitting in a train for 1-2 hours every day. And since these are streaming only they only work when you have a stable connection and they don't work on most open ones due to blocked ports. So it's 200 bucks for a toilet controller. Maybe great if you have a kid and let it play without blocking the tv, but that's about it. For the off chance you need to play something on the go a chinky phone clamp to play some emulators is better, more portable.

california branch really hated handhelds and did everything to make sure no games are made for vita. they also heavily pushed vita as a second screen for your ps3 and ps4. thats why they branded vita tv as pstv here in the west. they were so mad that everyone still treated it as a vita tv that they went and made psp3 an actual second screen for ps5 with no games of its own.
at least modding it is easy. they did 0 R&D for its security. sadly its not that much better than psp2(vita) when it comes to emulation as its just a streaming machine.

You can actually make a pretty nice sized device and still give it a big screen. It's more the internals and batteries that are making everything so huge and bulky.
(Just look at the Switch Lite for instance. It really doesn't feel that much larger than the Vita and even has more room for a larger screen than the official one.. Ayaneo and some of the other PC handheld manufacturers have made some pretty powerful devices in small sizes too. The thing is then people bitch about battery life and ergonomics again)
