Have consoles plateaud, I don't think the hardware difference between the ps5 and the ps6 will be significant and if it is it'll just be treated as the ps5 pro 2 since you'll be able to play most if not all it's games on the ps5 as well , this is a win for consumer

Aside from the Switch, they're just bootlocked PC hardware running a proprietary OS, with DRM preventing your from running your own software

Essentially a hardware paywall that games are locked behind

Not enough people are being tricked by this + Moore's law is dead

There won't be a new Xbox

PS6 will be the last

They're going to sell AI next. Not sure how or when, I've given up on consoles for a little while now, but I'm sure the next step for console hardware is gonna be AI.
For PC I think it kinda sucks because you can push material limits without resorting to software tricks, but for console it could well be beneficial because console hardware already heavily relies on AI and other software "tricks".

Yeah, that's the direction it feels like we're heading. Not in the sci-fi robo-companion sense, but in that every new console is gonna have some baked-in "AI-enhanced" upscaling, procedural generation, or optimization gimmick to make underwhelming hardware look shinier on paper. Basically, more smoke and mirrors to keep the illusion of progress going without breaking the bank. Makes sense from a console perspective though—they’ve always leaned hard on software wizardry to punch above their weight class. Just sucks for PC where you're expected to solve every problem by buying a new GPU the size of a VCR.

Consoles died after the 360/PS3 era when exclusives stopped being a thing and they turned into gimped, locked down underpowered, overpriced PC's.
There is no point in owning a console unless you're a corporate brand cuck.

Probably. With the portable ps5 coming there will definitely be crossgen games for a long time

The huge generational leaps are gone forever until some new tech comes along that changes everything

The ps6 would sell 100m+ units if they just add ps1-3 disc emulation and be backwards compat with 4-5.
