What a load of bullshit. Vista itself was disliked for perfomance reasons, not for its interface. Up until Vista visuals were improving - 7 is somewhat downgraded Vista, 8 is an atrocity, everything onward is just 8 slightly toned down.

Aero was transparency with some blur. It didn't look like glass, didn't reflect or refract like glass.
Apple actually bothered to program the UI to do the same things glass does.

Twilight Princess is old enough that that has or will likely happen. Also, the bloom in Twilight Princess never bothered me although I learned years later that people didn't really like it. IT really gave the Twilight Realm that otherworldly.
