My problem is that UE5 engine games, specifically 5 games, all look EXACTLY THE FUCKING SAME. You can tell a game is running on UE5 the absolute nanosecond you get footage of it, I didn't get this with 4 games.
>>712908090
You are a retard, it's not the graphical style only, you can tell they look the same because of the animations. It's the same thing with Expedition 33, the moment I saw footage of characters running around I knew it was UE5 slop because it has the same awkward shitty running that every UE5 game does.
>>712908405 >and it was never true
But it is true, Unreal Engine on basic level renders all the graphic elements the same meanwhile only things that are different would be assets, which is why it's giving off that samey look.
>>712907991
Pseudoregalia, Fortnite, Sand Land, Marvel Rivals and Expedition 33 are all made in unreal 5
you niggers literally cannot tell if a game is made in UE, you just point at the most obvious of slop like fucking mindseye and go "ugh, arr rook same!" because you don't recognize the ones that don't look like slop, it's pure survivorship bias
>>712907991
UE5 has proven to be quite varied in terms of visual direction.
Now, if you want to see an engine where almost all games running on it look nearly the same, get a glimpse at pic related.
>>712909775
What's the point of saying >it's possible but most games don't bother to do anything but the default UE look that is immediately recognizable
That's exactly what people complain about. The vast majority doesn't look like your small sample, but you sit there like people say it is impossible to make them not look like shit
>>712909216
but its okay since its capcom only using this engine.
thats like saying fromsofts in house engine makes all their games look the same.
its the studios signature you dumb faggot.
the issue with unreal engine slop is that all games using it look the same even though its all games by different ((((developers))))
>>712908827
expedition 33 looks like a bunch of unreal engine asset store bought assets thrown haphazardly around and call it a game.
Stellar blade, another unreal engine sloppity slop of a slop, evokes the same look and feel.
they both also suffer from that same unreal engine brown n bloom look and the lighting goes crazy when moving from a dark to light area.
>>712910563 >developers are lazy >"no the engine is shit" >here's all these nice games >"ummm, ok? nobody denied they could make them look nice but they just don't!"
so then, if you agree that the engine is capable of variety but devs don't want to do it, what the fuck is the point of complaining about the engine exactly?
it just means games would all look the same even if devs were using fucking godot
>>712911181
unreal engine was made with its main purpose being to allow turd world code monkeys with zero interest in vidya to work in mass production of china funded vidya.
>>712911391
Yes very strange that you have some special GPU that just so happens to run the game better evn though the game gets universally bad results on all benchmarks seen anywhere online + other technical issues.
>>712911557
I runs and looks great on my machine, dunno what else to tell you, fag. you can try to spin capcoms in house engine being as shit as unreal as much as you want, but re engine looks and runs way better than unreal slop. the best part is that no other games feel and look like capcoms game. that is the most important thing.
>>712910751
The main difference here is that Capcom, unlike FromSoftware, has IPs that are all visually and artistically different from each other.
A Souls game having some visual similarities with Sekiro is not a big deal since they go for a similar vibe. Capcom going for the photo-realism route with Resident Evil and Street Fighter is a whole different can of worms.
>>712909408
Godot is pretty cool for 2D. Can export everything into a single file and isn't bloated like others who use for empty projects hundreds of megabytes.
>>712911391
Yeah it uniquely looks like sludge
I love yellowed trees and faded colors and monotone horizons which somehow already get foggy only ten steps away
>>712911859
its just like every koei tecmo game looking like their musou series you dumb faggot. its an artistic choice by these studious, they catered their style in accordance to their engine. it makes them unique. >bu-but capcom games look like capcom games
yea no shit you idiot.
>>712912162
much rather play a RE engine game than some unreal engine slop by wanna be developers and no matter how much you yell and scream and piss your skirt will change that.
>>712912130
It's not the same shit at all, retard.
The thing the RE Engine excels at is photo-scanning and high fedelity details, which are more favoured for some of Capcom IPs than others.
The fact this engine is so visually specific makes all of their games visually very similar, and for a company whose games are all so visually and aesthetically different from each other that is not good.
The actual Unreal Engine is good, it's the shitty game devs that are at fault using things like DLSS as a crutch instead of watching polycount, LoD, optimizing and etc.
Look at Fortnite, no anti soul fog there, colorful, vibrant, consistent art style. The real problem is shitty dev teams.

DD2's issues were entirely on the CPU side due to fucked AI/collision behavior.
Graphically it performs perfectly fine.
This makes it all the more confusing why wilds has such massive asset streaming issues.
