i thought that surely people were exaggerating when they say that this is a amazon delivery/walking simulator
i just got to the first knot where i delivered oxytoxin and people were happy and all that, but so far it wasn't a joke, it's literally an amazon delivery simulator, yeah sure with some stealth/a bit horror elements, but not a lot of gaming
does this genuinely get more, idk, video gamey at some point?

You play it for the atmosphere. Like 'No Man's Sky', 'Subnautica', 'Tears of The Kingdom'. Some people just like to walk around and explore. Maybe it's a zen thing.

>So how 'bout it? Aren't you getting tired of the grind? Isn't this what you have been waiting for, all this time? ..A game over?!

It's a pure video game from start to finish.
People praise the game for its stellar, addicting GAMEPLAY. Out of my first playthrough's ~160 hours, 90% was nothing but interactive gameplay.

None of those are played JUST for atmosphere.
DS plays like a mixture of MGS and RE1, with hint of Terraforming world-builder in the mix + that fun community co-op aspect that delivers the game's subtext in practical form.

No, it's a pure video game, that would only work as a video game too. Imagine being such a brainlett that game having a plot, captivating mood and stuff turns it into a film in one's mind...

Eventually your routes will be so well put together you will get bored of the noise from the game. I suggest podcasts those work great. But also don't ignore every MULE camp/BT infestation. It can be fun to clear those out too.

since you strongly defend the game i'll assume you really like it. can you explain what the addictive gameplay is? what do you do? is it really just a delivery simulator and that itself is what people find fun? i guess it might be just not for me

Those are actual games. They are 99.9% pure gameplay. Death Stranding is a shitty movie.
