i dont have a desire to play new games, even if i can get them for free.

You literally don't have to buy games on release.
Every game releases broken and buggy with DLC trickled out months after release to squeeze more money out of you. If you just wait half a year to a year to play the "hottest AAA" games you can get it for a fraction of the price WITH bug fixes and the DLC.

Games devalue insanely quickly for the most part (there are annoying exceptions, like Nintendo) and with so many games always coming out and decades of classics available, it's hard to justify not waiting a few months for the price to come down. If it's something I'm hype for I might buy day one, but that's very rare for the titles asking £70.
I recommend cdkeys.com for anons looking to save money, even on new releases.

Game value is mostly "fake" anyway. It's like a voting machine. If you like something buy it. If not, don't. If you don't have extra money around, don't even think about these things.
