I saw it at a dad's colleague's house and it's eerie how the memories of the game I have are nothing like what I see now whenever I play it. It was near occult how you get dropped in a big, dark, rainy atmospheric gritty city and can go wherever the fuck you want. Only "open" game I played at the time was Jak 1 and GTA 1 on ps1.
You don't get the appeal by looking at screenshots it needs to be in movement with the blur and special effects, like vice city, like SA. And on a big ctr screen if possible.
And fuck the pajet demake. Anyone playing that shit is a tasteless all consooming never questioning anything GOY. If you feel targeted reading this post good.

That was always great. My friends and I would often take turns seeing how long we could survive. Usually not long due to an errant rocket launcher shot or flamethrower but it was fun.

It is a lesser known fact of 2 that you can take truck cabs, hook them to trailers AND use cranes to load other vehicles onto said trailers. RPing as a truck driver in the 90's was never so violent.

It isn't. KB+Mfags are non-human vermin using a work prehipheral to play video games.

It doesn't get more autistic than holding this opinion. Nobody without autism is playing GTA with a keyboard mouse. Having a defective brain is mandatory for something like that to be possible.

I am perfectly calm and smug when I tell you that people who think KB+M is superior are infact mentally ill.

to be fair, this kinda makes sense providing you're talking about the later gtas.

not the grand theft auto where you need a pristine 2000 dualshock 2 to be able to not drive at 40mph and aiming is clunkier than watching you try to waddle from your car to the walmart mobility scooter

You can oneshot enemies in this game by aiming for their limbs with a mouse. Most of the time this happens without even needing to try. Conversely, the lock-on targets the center of their bodies, and so it takes many more bullets to kill them.

As someone who played GTA III when it released, obviously I was blown away by the freedom to cause criminal mayhem in a 3D city. But I was more impressed by Vice City. It had a clearer vision, quality of life improvements, and a more cozy city to hang out in.
I never liked San Andreas. There was too much extraneous content and I didn't like the vibe despite their being much more to explore.

I spent so much time driving around like a normal person, not speeding or running lights etc, and just observing the world. It wouldn't take long for something to go down between NPCs, it was one of the first games to trigger my interest in "living worlds" in games, how non player centric interactions can improve a game in multiple ways from gameplay to immersion etc.

>And fuck the pajet demake.

I recently completed this version, and it was fine. Driving is improved, the notorious bullshit missions have been tweaked to be more reasonable, the overhauled combat system lends further assistance to the player, cars have increased longevity in the world and no longer disappear during cutscenes, meaning you can take a vehicle of your choosing to a mission and still be at its wheel when that mission is over. With the new Classic Lighting feature added in the last update, the cities in all three of the DE games look better than the originals; yes, you can nitpick individual textures here and there, but taken in whole the remastered cities are plainly upgrades, superior to anything achieved by mods, though still below the quality of production we were all hoping for when this edition was announced.

These are the real issues with the DE:

1) Incomplete radio music. This one doesn't bother me because I tired of all these songs the first time around, and I always replace the game music with my own playlists, but I understand that this is a sore point for others and I agree that a "Definitive" edition should have all the parts in place, especially parts that for many players were essential to the identity of the games.

2) On a related point, touching again on this question of completeness, I feel that both Liberty and Vice City Stories should have been part of this package. I mean, why the fuck not?

3) Ugly character models with warping limbs. The original models are ugly too, and the new ones don't exactly look worse, but they don't look any better either. This is particularly a problem in San Andreas. I don't think this will ever be fixed in future.

The PS2 games are so cartoonish that the violence can't be taken seriously. RDR2 is much more brutal because of the realistic graphics and physics, and because you can sadistically torture people with the lasso, yet it caused no controversy.

That's funny because it's more of a sandbox than all of the GTAs that came after it by far. You don't fail missions in this game for failing to follow Rockstar's carefully scriped setpieces and sit through conversations like you do in later GTA "games" (movies).

That alone was enough to make me not want to pick this shit up. Fucking Rockstar man.

Depends. If all you want is raw speed, there's a Banshee you can access at any point inside the tiny building near the Portland crusher. Later on once you've unlocked the other islands, Cheetah and Infernus are the fastest. Stingers are good too if you can't find one.

it's a toss up for me since taxis and police cars are pretty much the same car
the benefit of taxis is they are absolutely everywhere and you can listen to the radio
the upside of police cars is there's a number of ways to get one delivered to you for free, and blaring the sirens can make traffic fuck off out of your way

Never 100 percent these games, the rc.game and the dirt bike in vice were too bullshit. This is after beating the lion King and headed dynamite on game gear.

Driver 2 may not be as innovative but it was way more stylish and character building. That final level getting pushed down the edge of the cliff made me believe I could get through med school.

I played this game when it came out. Never really felt it was groundbreaking for some reason.
