Armored Core is a full price game, Nightreign is not. Perhaps more zoomers would be willing to give the mech game a chance if they could get it for cheaper. Nightreign might be an asset flip experiment, but it is still Elden Ring at the end of the day, and zoomers will be more willing to fork over there money becauss of that.

What’s the dev budget for armored core? I’d imagine it’s probably not as inflated as most games now so that + it being a niche title it probably doesn’t need that many sales to meet expectations.

They can only milk the dark souls ip so hard, it makes sense for them to try and develop other IPs that will gain a reasonable number of players based on their success as a studio with dark souls/elden ring so that they don't ultimately run out of anything to sell that anyone wants
