>doa game no one in their right mind wants >almost guaranteed to be crippled by sakurai's "hating everything after super star" autism it's gonna be a rough console

will mitsubishi-san seriously abandon his loyal PS/XBOX/PC fanbases who have been supporting him for more than a decade for a tendie check?

I've never played Air Ride and I'm not into Smash but Kid Icarus Uprising made me a Sakurai fan.
>>712938049 I'm curious to see how his much more ambitious approach to game design will differentiate Airriders from the original. People glaze the game pretty damn hard, it's still good but people probably have their hopes way too high. I have faith in Sakurai putting out a content-rich game but we'll see what his focus is this time.

>>712938442 Given how Smash doesn't rework the fundamentals from the ground up every installment, I would expect the same for Air Riders. Maybe some tweaks to controls, but the selling point will be roughly 2-3 times the amount of content than the meager scraps of the original.
>>712938762 I know we're getting the Monke direct tomorrow, but I could've sworn Nintendo said a more broad direct would be coming at some point in July. I'm excited for Air Riders because I have faith in the core gameplay loop but I really can't get too hyped with what is effectively a prerendered title reveal, and the reveal that Sakuraibis working on it.
>>712940390 People are getting sick of World, and Crossworlds is fucking expensive, not to mention that Sega is still putting pride shit front and center, when at this point, it kills any company's goodwill. I don't think Air Riders is going to do much, but you've got the Kirby Air Ride crowd who's happy to finally have a sequel.
>>712940564 >Kirby Air Ride crowd So many of these people probably haven't even played the game. 1.2~mil in sales. I guarantee the sequel will perform better, but how much so?

nintendo is always 1 to 2 generations behind the videogame zeitgeist
They too will suffer from longer game dev cycles

>>712936062 (OP) Why would I be excited for a Kirby spin-off. They need to announce the next game after Forgotten Land. Either 3-D or another 2.5-D title. Anything.
