Literally on the OP but it's the PS1 version without the moe-fied graphic.

It's janky and poorly optimized
The combat is braindead, for the most part
The simulation part is so basic it even makes persona look complex
The plot has a handful of loose ends because they needed to save stuff for the DLC
The voice acting is a mixed bag, and so is the art.
And it was made in RPG maker, so the game c
But it had soul, and the moments that work, they really work.

Finished it on Hard mode on DS. The damn 99 floor tower can be crazy if you don't have a Forbidden Coin to insta clear the mobs. I also hate that stat growth on that game is tied to the current religion that you equip so minmaxing gets encouraged in some way.

Is a super shallow SRPG with a weird ass evolution system that makes 0 sense, and with a ridiculous curve for magic, early game magic is super fucking overpowered, albeit you can't get to use it because is costly but the further you progress, and the more you can actually use magic, the more useless it becomes, at late game your magic users deal more damage with generic normal attacks than with their strongest spells.

You have to choose between exp and items when you battle, you can't get both. You're also encouraged to kill for exo because killing all enemies in a zone gives you a bonus chest.
But most quests require items to complete and you need money to buy stuff.
Battle is auto-target ONLY. And they're all a slog until you get like halfway though the game, when the main character gets the option to cast powerful AoE magic that mostly renders everyone else useless outside support. I didn't beat it but I doubt it gets better.

Also the artist of the original game was Takamichi who makes covers for Comic LO.

At the last section of the game they start introducing monsters in regular encounters that can break or steal your equipment. Please note that the majority of equipment in this game are completely unique items.

Played it and finished the girl's route. I did like it enough and have been meaning to play the dude's route. Heard it's not as good though.

The ANS Reliant still flies in my heart.

All the summon night games except swordcraft story because they're all only in japanese and there are no translation patches.
So I win by default since no one else here can read moonrunes hehe.

I love the artstyle, but I remember the ending being abrupt to the point that I wondered, whether I'd beaten the game at all or whether my copy had been incomplete or had bugged out or something.
