People who bought it were genuine retards. If you didn't catch the story is going to turn into shit after ME2 completely diverted from the reaper storyline and focused on the collectors and "muh daddy issues" of everyone in your crew, you deserved the pain.
Also, the entire RGB ending of ME3 was leaked months before the release. It was enough time to cancel your preorder/torrent.

I had it pre-ordered then 2 days before release a copy was available so I pirated it instead. Whilst I was still mad, at least it helped lower the blow.
