the game seems fine except the abysmal amount of content, that doesnt even make any sense since its just reused assets from Control.
Its mindboggling. Id assume they spent very little on the game, to the point that it being on Gamepass would already be worth the dev cost.

lel no
>weapon design and feeling is mediocre at best
>extremely limited, boring enemy selection
>gameplay cycle is executing tedious chores over and over again
>what little gameplay depth there is is gated behind grinding for unlocks
it's a 2/10 due to being absurdly boring and forgettable, concord is worlds better because at least it'll make you laugh until you get dementia

I guess why Control was on sale with a massive discount not too long ago, the devs were aware this wasn't going to sell and were trying to mitigate this flop.

i think the reason many recent games have childish and or uninspiring art styles is because they hire women and trannies to do the art instead of hiring actual competant artists

Unfortunately it exists purely in their heads. Tragic, many such cases. The real question is why do so many fall for chasing this imaginary modern audience despite critical flop after critical flop?

>A big part of the plan to keep Firebreak from burning out in weeks or months, like Concord or XDefiant, is to release the upcoming shooter on both Steam and Epic. Remedyโ€™s last two games arrived exclusively on the Epic Games Store

That's actually depressing. They finally released a game on Steam just to find out nobody wants to play it.

i did not find the gameplay and guns mediocre, they felt fun to shoot and the rest you just agreed with me that it was limited and repetitive since it has a tiny amount of content, so I dont know why you started you reply with "lel no" if all you had to say was that the guns didnt feel amazing.

The truth is that by releasing their prior games solely on Epic they already harmed this game, no one remembers them as developers because no one uses Epic, it's a marketing black hole of a storefront that not only damages their current sales but ensures that the devs themselves won't gain fame (which is vital for word of mouth) even if the games they release on it are good (because no one buys them).

I can't overstate how little unique content Firebreak has. I played all maps to their fullest within 2 hours and still got my refund.
Yeah there are higher difficulty options that have gameplay modifiers, but it's still the same maps and from looking at higher difficulty gameplay (inc max difficulty) nothing has changed except some different enemies and way more time spent picking up items.
The missions, even at their fullest, barely take 10-15 minutes each. Even the high difficulty gameplay I viewed, he completed all objectives in about 20 minutes, and then spent 15 minutes looking around the map to farm loot which only took so long because he was alone.

I honestly have no clue what the fuck they were thinking

>support our liveservice through 15 years of updates and iterative design faithful to our core audience?

You're right about that. I bet Epic Games has all these incentives for companies to put their games there, but it's a trap, and the short-term gains don't matter when the store is irrelevant.

Timmy bribes these faggots with a few millions upfront for poaching them and then a few more millions in guaranteed sales; that is to say remedy got a fair chunk of money as if the game sold well, regardless of how many copies were actually bought. Guaranteed sales have been a thing since Timmy started his campaign, and have been the primary draw for shortsighted faggots such as them.

Long term brand damage? Who cares really, Timmy Tencent offered us $20million NOW. We'll deal with being unable to sell product in 6 years when we come to it.

Pretty much this, it's a side project reskin of Control, Remedy is still working on the Max Payne remakes with Rockstar.

Aw man, I downloaded this for free via the PS5 Game Catalog because I thought it would be a fun, entertaining multi-player shooter with my group of friends so if it's truly as bad as everyone is saying that's disappointing. As a group we usually go through stages of being really into certain games for a few months and last year was great for that because it went Helldivers into Diablo 4's expansion into Phasmaphobia, but this year has been pretty lackluster with fun party games aside from REPO. Is there any hope on the horizon? I can't think of a single interesting looking multi-player game coming out in the future. I refuse to play most FPS/Hero shooter games BTW unless they're more cooperative and not PvP.
