They have made DDs regarding the new governments. Japan is essentially administrative + feudal counts that also have clans forming blocs, with some imperial laws that have realm wide modifier effects. Korea, Jin and Dai Viet have Chinese Bureaucratic lite and Bureaucratic is administrative but with a treasury, exams, merit mana and great works. And China as a hegemony has eras and stuff.
Then there is Mandala and some kind of government for the Philippines.

I haven't paid too much attention after the plague DLC because I abandoned hope for the game, but my understanding is you still can't simulate how either the Holy Roman Empire or Byzantium historically worked: ancestral electors & princes for HRE; and appointing governors for lands whilst they also had their fief/family holdings. Also how the Emperors for both states were selected.

They can't simulate Europe yet, but they've rushed off for even more nations to add.

I could go on but these are the ones that bother me most.
I feel like the only things that CK3 has over 2 is new mechanics like struggles, better genetic management, dynasty perks and Religious/Cultural stuff.
But frankly all the work thats being put into shit like nomads and china development could and should be spent on actually making European gameplay better.

One of my favorite things in 2 was turning Sardinia Corsica into the new Venice as a republic. Dominating the Mediterranean with trade. And you could get up to 7 baronies per county so tall was viable.

Cheap developers basically only know how to use game engines like decorating a house in the Sims. Its why they only add superficial shit like models or map regions. Shit that you copy-paste and make tweaks to. Even ck3 is just the code of ck2 with a graphics overhaul and player models and 45% of the content cut because they probably couldn't figure it out.

Developing code that defines trade and naval parameters requires at least basic programming skills that most modern developers lack.

Maybe someone will make a mod? Thats the best chance. Paradox is on creative lifesupport. Rip.

Any king under you will have a 100% chance to rebel when your heir takes over when you die or you spend all your money and suck his dick constantly until you're 79, then you get to die and then you get to repeat the process.

Never give away king titles or let vassals create them.

>Create and keep all king titles.
>break up every duchey
>keep vassels at vassel limit
>as many counts as possible
>too big
>graduate NON FAMILY to dukes
>keep them as small as possible
>never give 1 Duke more than 1 count
>too big
>repeat but with another count

Ive taken over the entire world as India before in Ironman. Always breed for genuis and strong as quickly as possible. You can save scum Ironman by crashing the game if you make a mistake but you generally only get a 1 month window to unfuck things.

Additionally

There's no limit on how big a duchey can get. You can give all your counts to a single duke, and he will operate like a king without the base "-80 relationship" for being a king.

And Never land family members, or you may end up with succession claims and bullshit. If they dont have land, they have to rely exclusively on allies to push a claim, and depending on when, your landed vassals will typically try to expand within your realm.

When I want to go full hapsburg I give cousins counties and duchies since they usually dont have claims. I'll give brothers baronies if they have good traits since it borders on useless and it looks cool.

I miss ck2s features of families running off to form warbands and landing family members as nobles when playing as a merchant empire.

Is there a way to break up duchies outside debug or mods? Most duchies are reasonable 3~4 counties max, but there are some ridiculous duchies with like 8~9 counties.

Mercia is always a fucking bitch to deal with for example because with 9 fucking counties they're way too strong for a duke. Bohemia is another one, I always have issues with Bohemia. I wish there was a way I could just split those in half.

I've always found it easier to keep 3-4 kings content than it is to keep 20 - 30 dukes and counts content. all those dukes and counts keep declaring war or squeezing out a hook to declare one growing in power and its happening all over. Have 2 kingdoms at equal power close to each other and most of the time they're too chickenshit to fight each other.

Agrees, some duchies are too powerful. Once youre in charge you can have your chancellor make claims on the counties. It takes a shit ton of time depending on the skill level but you can get lucky and wipe 1 or 2 out every 60 years. Possibly more.

>make claims on counties in duchies
>claim more than 50% iirc
>demand the land back
>will say yes if he likes you or no if not
>if no instant war and hes usually alone
>check if he has outside allies
>rarely a problem but wow it sucks if hes friends with the empire next door
>win anways

Boom you get the county. After you control enough, you'll have the prompt to take the title and dissolve or keep it.

Additionally the best way to fuck a painful duchy is to give 1 county of it to a different Duke. That way, they have to fight 6 different wars to unite it, and you dont have to sit on the title. It doesn't matter if the land is contingent. You can give the Duke of wessex a county in mercia.

You rarely want to give a Duke contingent land. Make it hard for them to muster against you and hard to defend. That one's up to you tho, if you breed properly and don't make anyone too strong, you'll never have a political civil war.

Take one of the smaller duchies and then give half the counties from a big duchy to them.

If Mercia is too strong give the duke of Isle of Mann like 3 of the counties from it.

How do you survive the new leader malus paired with the massive "im a king" malus?

Together its like -120 relationship. Assuming you were loved it would probably be net -40 but still that's a lot of hate for someone who might control 12k troops..

Having any king for me resulted in a lot of instability thay basically you never run into if you just make a massive Duke.

It's really not accurate to call the game turn-based, because all "players" take their turns simultaneously.
If Crusader kings is turn based, then so is every multiplayer game, because they all run on discrete ticks.

CPU fuckery. You either implement shit in away that "just works" or you do it in a smart way. Guess what Paracucks did. It might not be that much of a problem if there aren't too many actors doing things at once but if you add half the world to the map, shit is bound to get worse no matter what. If you went with the "just works" approach you might have fucked up even more and performance gets fucked exponentially instead of linearly.

Big simulation, lots of characters and interactions, the issue is usually memory related. Late game CK3 can already push 15+gb or more. Stellaris is bad too, late game in big galaxies I've seen 20+gb being used.

Correct.

Call of duty is also a turn based game. Players take turns inputting commands into the server. I believe its .001 second per turn.

Not sure I've just never had a problem with them as long as they all don't have ambitious usually 1 bribe or just hosting a feast with them keeps them under control. Getting 1 person out of the faction tends to be enough to get them to back down.

I havent played since 2020 since I hated the direction the game took and waited for it to improve. Maybe the king malus was reduced. It was crippling in ck2. Good because having the king titles but being punished for using them was stupid when a duke with more land should be just as angry.

>king with 1 county
>rambunctious asshole
>duke with 49 counties
>just happy to be here
Dumb.

I dont even like India, i just wanted to try the elephants. They're not much different from heavy cavalry and it was kind of cool, especially in europe but, I wouldn't do another one.

I kind of want to do a coptic kingdom but the african tech is shit and you get bodied the entire game. Even if youre stable juggling your neighbors sucks and is unfun in Ironman. You can lose hours of time just because you forgot to check a neighbor for too long and if your heir is shit youre fucked. This and the Jewish opm is pretty hard.

Tutorial island (britian)

Basically a scaled down version of Europe where you can learn how the political system works. Everyone's the same race and religion and there's no real outside powers... at the start...

Nords will be your first "boss" you need to beat.

Byzantium will be a close second but the political system is different and you might learn the wrong shit. For example being born in the purple overrides several succession features and its an imperial system rather than fuedal but you generally be safe from everything until the 1200s.
