why fallout 4 is so fucking boring compared to skyrim?

The Bethesda fallout setting is just fucking boring.
Skyrim isnt perfect but at least there's a bit more going on in the world and the lore. even if most of the interesting stuff is in books and vague references.

Fallout 4 has a lot more radiant generic slop and a lot more objects floating around that look like they'd be interesting but don't actually do shit making them just a disappointment so in the end you're just waking though a gallery of nothing.

Only a few real settlements meaning only a few NPCs with actual personalities, stories or quests.
All the generic settlers are just empty time wasters, even if you spend time on the base building and other bullshit it all falls flat because there is nothing to do with it and the raid combat sucks.

All the factions suck, minutemen are total retards, railroad are a joke, brotherhood are assholes, institute are slimy nerdy faggots no real morals but not evil enough to be interesting. Everything in nukaworld is retarded (You're raider king but everyone tells you what to do and bosses you around).

Even less RPG elements than skyrim not to mention previous fallout games. Your character has a really boring, restrictive backstory and quest thrust upon him making it difficult to even pretend to be someone interesting.

Even with a ton of mods I struggle to play a few days before losing interest. Skyrim I can still play vanilla and at least have some fun fucking around with different character builds.

Gameplay-wise, Fallout 4 is superior.
However it falls when compared to Skyrim for everything else.
For mods, both are a massive digital playground so if you find FO4 boring but refuse to mod it, that's on you.

Imagine if 30 minutes into Skyrim you could find an iron dagger with a +100 fire damage enchantment that will literally win you the game by itself.
That's Fallout 4, where you can stumble across an exploding/wounding handgun immediately that will do more damage than end-tier weapons.

Bethesda fallout is a sad caricature of the Fallout franchise, while Skyrim was still riding on fumes from when Elder Scrolls universe was still interesting
