Nuclear Throne had a rough exit of early access because JW was burnt out and Rami wasn't helping. It took until they hired YAL from the community to fix the problems that never got addressed. Its in a good place now and is primarily driven by the modding community that YAL helped build.

The seasonal content they added was consistently the worst stuff they've added to the game.
It was the non-seasonal stuff that was actually good, and in some cases needed a lot of tweaks before getting into a good spot.
It took them 5 seasons to make anything as good as the refinery mission, which was the last major update during early access.

The best feature they added was the ability to turn the seasons off.
They're only fun if you dont play the game very much and desperately want to see the content when its new, but after a solid 3 years of nonstop robots, space aids, and robots with space aids it gets to feel exhauating.

They can't really speed up the part of adding new ships and new fun mechanics, so instead they hired some retarded liberals and VAs to wrote a "main story" hoping that it will add value to the game.
The main story thing backfired badly not only because nobody asked for a main story, but since the game doesn't allow you to fast forward or skip any of those dialogue dumps you're literally stuck being lectured by a brown woman about why corpo bad for 3 full fucking minutes between every fucking missions and it completely kills the flow of a comfy ship recycling game.

Sometimes denuvo will be absent from the early access, and thus cause fucktons of problems in the full release (this happened with Monster Hunter Wilds)
Sometimes the price will go up/it stops being free, after nothing is added to justify it.
