>"Please I hope this game'll be as good as this trailer is, it's the first time in years that I'm this excited for a new game! Hope we can hear more about it soon"
>"Very excited for this. The leads here lead the charge during the best eras of Destiny's PvP."
>"This game could be sooooooo good. The original marathons lore is awesome I hope this lives up to it."
>"mind blown. Amazing artdirection and the audio/music is incredibly well done. Very excited for this."

These are just some quotes taken from the Marathon announcement trailer. A trailer which, need I remind you, was 1:40 of a character in a spacesuit running down a hallway before getting sniped. Zero gameplay was shown. The only thing of note was some admittedly visually interesting cutaways.

Was it hype culture that led to this response, where people were desperate for something to be excited for? Or were they bought and paid for? While the comments are very different now, two years ago there was overwhelming praise being thrown at such a nothing announcement that turned out to be an aborted shart.

Corpos have no idea how real people speak. Reply to them with a slur or curse word and the comment disappears and is copy pasted as a new one.

There's a phenomenon where a bunch of millennial and zoomers are obsessed with Bungie(because they grew up with Halo) and will play literally anything they make, despite never playing anything they made before Halo.
People have made entire careers just talking about Bungie on YouTube.
I definitely think part of it is corporate shilling too and bots.

I doubt bungie has that much brand loyalty left.

I genuinely was interested in the game, simply because I want another hit of the Wipeout Designers Republic art style, even if bootlegged through three different copies.

The initial announcement trailer intrigued people, I wouldn't say there was hype. Most comments I remember were people lamenting the fact that it's an extraction shooter.

how do you steal an art direction? that phrase reminds me when people used to say Donald Trump and russia hacked the election. like the words dont even make sense
