I've been playing multiplayer games regularly since 2007 and I have no idea how you can even get banned. Dedicated servers with power tripping admins I understand. Kicked from a game because some sperg doesn't like how you play or you did a little teamkilling sure. But banned from modern games with no community servers, how's that possible ? I have friends that talk shit regularly and use slurs and the only time they've ever been more than muted for a week is on dedicated servers. Speaking of which, I don't understand why anons nostalgia post so much over dedicated servers while also complaining about shit like this 24/7. Dedicated servers are way worse in this regard. I used to think like you and then I got hit with mute/silence because a lot of people didn't like the way I play. So if you play a lot, get reported a lot then the moderation system will crawl through everything you ever typed and find a bad no-no word as justification.
It's so impersonal it sucks. After 3 random mutes during rank climb I gave up on the game completely because obviously the playerbase is just a bunch of fragile scrubs. Like you play 95% of the time fine and being genuine but the moment some idiot gets butthurt he'll try to push your buttons and bait you into saying something just a bit mean like "idiot, dumbass" and then you're cooked.
