Cyber Sleuth and the followup game was shit mechanically. Normal mode was full steamroll. Hard mode requires super high stat, no inbetween. Also the game was too dependant on speed stat.
It needs more cool transferable passives like SMT.

You either play digimon world or cyber sleuth.
The former is a pet raising sim where you raise a digimon like a tamagotchi(as in you feed it train it, help it shit when it needs to take a dump, and put it to bed) and you explore and fight your way through an island.
The latter is a bog standard low budget jrpg with digimons.
The world series are a more unique experience, but they are pretty can be pretty jank/obtuse so they filter a lot of people like me
Cyber sleuth is a 6/10 jrpg with digimon in it, but if you are the type that can enjoy low budget jrpgslike me and like digimon then it is a pretty good time.

To be fair you can let it autofight but it feels more like your digimen are boxers and you're their trainer telling them in real time what move to pull next. The game also copied the OG World's secret move of perfectly blocking enemy attacks if you time the block order right so it gets really intense if you use it to push into areas way past your digimen's current levels.
