Genuinely, father-daughter relationships are some of the most interesting in storytelling and the fact they get stigmatized because of pedophiles is a tragedy.
There can be no greater opposite than older man and younger woman, already that's two totally different perspectives clashing, but then you add in the fact one needs to protect the other out of obligation. It tells a lot about the father character how they treat the daughter character, really it gives the daughter power in the story by making her perceived needs a driving force.
