I think mod sites should host all mods, even ones they don't agree with, so long as the mods in question are not breaking any sort of official law.
And yes, that includes mods even I personally don't care for.
The point is that what someone does with their game is none of my business and does not affect me in any way.

That's great but it's ultimately up to the person who runs the site.
The real problem is people accepting that a service is shit, agreeing on it, and still using and uploading everything to that site.
Same with sites like Sankaku, everyone agrees it's a shit but until other sites actually get the same degree of uploads, it's irrelevant.

If I ran a mod site, I would allow anything, even if it wasn't my thing, and it didn't break a law, though that gets murky depending on where you're hosted.

Last I checked, that was legal where I live.
But, the people running Nexus are control freaks, which seems to a prominent thing in the modding community.

Honestly this. Overtake is the site for driving game mods. Thunderstore seems to be where all the unity game mods are going these days. Minecraft has curseforge. Nexus doesn't have to be the default
