Why does it feel like being a Nintendo fan means you have to be a paypig?

Why would anyone buy these "Switch 2 Editions" when you could just get used/normal copies on sale and then buy the updates? The updates aren't even on the carts, they use shitty codes instead.

Sure, but you're also a fool. It's important to value money, there's no good reason why you should burn more money on something you can get for cheaper.

it came up as an argument during the Sony v Microsoft trial because Sony kept saying they needed COD to be successful and the defense was Switch doesn't have COD butnwere successful so Sony argued that Switch was a luxury brand not on the same level as PS5

Overpriced products have never been just for rich people. Poorfags have notoriously poor money-handling skills, so they're not against buying them. The real reason is because Nintendo, like Apple and Rolex, are status symbols. They're cultural mainstays and household names, so they can afford to jack up prices since they know people will buy whatever they put out.

Because Nintendo is the only publisher that hasn't devalued their software to the point where it's entirely disposable. Day one buyers can make purchases secure in the knowledge that prices won't drop, where as by contrast, buying a Sega game day one is effectively scamming yourself because the digital deluxe edition will be 40 bucks next month.
