i experienced the inverse. a few times throughout my life, a friend wasted money buying me a game they wanted to play with me, only for us to play it once, and never again cause i didnt like it. 7 Days to Die and Age of Empires 2 still rot in my library as a result.

Keep Talking's novelty wore off pretty quickly, and Project Winter was something we could only play once because it was the only time when my group of friends were able to play together (everyone has jobs, families, and shit now).

Long time ago, my mom took me and my brother to visit my aunt, and at the end of the visit she offered to buy me and my younger brother a new gba game to share. Kirby and the Amazing mirror was out at the time, and that was my pick, but then my brother saw a game for the cartoon show Codename Kids Next Door on the game boy advance. I instinctively knew that was shovelware slop and tried convincing him that Kriby was the better option. But nooooo, he liked watching Kids Next Door so he couldn't possibly imagine how a Codename Kids Next Door game would suck ass. Well my aunt sided with him because he was the youngest, and on the drive back home he played the game for a whole 5 minutes before agreeing that the game was shit and giving it to me. No apoligies or anything, just "here, it's your's now." I didn't bother playing it and to this day I never got to play Kirby and the Amazing Mirror.
