Too many actually rare games, too much debate on what counts as a game, games where there isn't even wild speculation let alone actual numbers on the rarity...
Sure there'll always be some rare games for every platform that some reseller will ask a fortune for and maybe some collector out there will be paying huge amounts of money for it eventually.
But you're never gonna see the average price of most games go up like the NES or GameCube has. Final Fantasy X will always be a reasonable price for even sealed copies, where as shit like Mario Kart Double Dash goes for insane amounts even though it's one of the most common games on the system.
