stop buying this ancient shit you retarded nigger. Emulate or get a flash cart if you HAVE to have original hardware.
In 60 years this shit is going to be as worthless as your grandma's Elvis collectibles. Your kids (what am I saying--you're never going to have sex) will marvel at your faggotry when they inherit your plastic shrine.

Buying retro games instead of a onetime purchase of a flashcart or just emulating are a tax on retards.

you don't even understand. the problem is that where before, you could have a fun time collecting old video games found on the cheap in thrift stores and flea markets and yard sales, but now all of those are snapped up by retarded speculators who try to either resell them at some standard market rate they got off a website or get them sealed in a fucking plastic shell to sit there on an ebay auction for nobody to bid on, while they wonder why nobody's jumping at the chance to pay 4 or 5 figures for a super nintendo game they can't play.

Worst part, if prices ever comes down, these "collectors" are just going to throw them in the trash and not resell.

those types of batteries don't piss all over the place like AA/AAA etc, anyone that would open the cartridge to replace the battery isn't going to be working with a mess that can't be easily cleaned

>Uughh I fell for another speculation scam, who could have predicted that 40 year old mass produced video games of no particular note weren't going to appreciate in value like the guys I paid to seal them in plastic shells assured me they would??? Better just throw them away entirely, because recouping some of my losses and selling them for their actual value would be.. uh.. admitting I'm retarded somehow

Nah m8, everybody using internet fucked this up.
Like in my country we have a holiday where everybody can sell their shit on the street and it used to be that you could find great shit and I'm going to blow your mind here: its not just video games that got fucked

Everybody googles what their shit is worth, so no rare games, no rare guitars, no rare art, people are selling the shit that they cant sell online.

A boomer at work collects WW2 shit and his shit has also exploded in value

The world isnt video games

Anything newer than Wii or anything Non-Nintendo will never have the same kind of resellers or collectors market as NES, SNES, N64 and Gamecube.
Too many actually rare games, too much debate on what counts as a game, games where there isn't even wild speculation let alone actual numbers on the rarity...
Sure there'll always be some rare games for every platform that some reseller will ask a fortune for and maybe some collector out there will be paying huge amounts of money for it eventually.
But you're never gonna see the average price of most games go up like the NES or GameCube has. Final Fantasy X will always be a reasonable price for even sealed copies, where as shit like Mario Kart Double Dash goes for insane amounts even though it's one of the most common games on the system.

This and also think it was inevitable. Back in 90s and 00s, you could buy find stuff for cheap, but you also heard stories about relatives selling old cards/games/toys/whatever for either thousands or for cheap not knowing they were worth. Eventually everybody simply double checked old stuff to see if they can sell it for some good cash.
And if I were to die, I sure as hell would hope my parents would double check prices and not sell my various games and cards for some chump change.
