Wait, so all you do is walk around? Why the fuck was everyone losing their mind and pretending like this was the best thing since sliced bread?
Is the console wasteland really that desolate? Just.. walking around was mindblowing?

>>713063713>labeling Journey as open worldYou've never played Journey, you absolute mongoloid.
There's something I want to love about it but it's just not all the way there. I like the idea of the random player encounters and the two of you just kinda messing around and helping each other out in the little way that you can. There's just not a whole lot of world in Journey. If it was some kind of utterly gigantic world with all kinds of weird things to explore and find then I'd play the shit out of it. As it is, there's just not a lot there.
After a game where you only get fragments of free movement and otherwise trudge in the sand like a peon, I will admit the syncing of flight and the track apotheosis at the apex of the climb is nice. But for a similar kind of game I think Exo One does it better by giving you freedom of movement from the beginning and letting you experiment with it freely.

>small indie team>game that cannot be conventionally explained>Zen like visuals>drop in Coop was kinda novel in a non combat focused game
>>713065776I still think drop in co-op like that is neat and I wish more games did it. Mario Wonder did it and it was fun
>>713063636 (OP)I thought it was an AI the whole time. I got out of it the feeling of nostalgia for old friends.
>>713063636 (OP)Counting only functional games Journey is for sure the worst I've ever played from concept to execution. In practice the social aspect is watching some autist who's played the game 50 times already do all the puzzles before you get a chance to while clicking Morse code at you, there is no fail state so there's no adrenaline, and there's a lot of holding w without thinking.
