I genuinely don’t get why any sane person would waste their hard-earned money on a Linux-based system like the Steam Deck. You can’t even play every game in your library because of anti-cheat issues. Sure, you can install Windows on it, but what’s the point? The device isn’t optimized for it, and it just ends up being a compromised experience.
A ROG Ally or Lenovo Legion Go is objectively the better option. They can run the entire Windows library without compatibility issues, and the Legion Go even has a trackpad if you absolutely need that feature.
Also, the Steam Deck’s hardware is pretty bad. Both the LCD and OLED models have poor pixel density, which strains your eyes over time. Games just don’t look good on that screen. Meanwhile, the ROG Ally X has a crisp, sharp display with VRR, making it actually enjoyable to use.
