The Daedra Princes do things. You can objectively observe their influence and sometimes even speak to them and get physical rewards for serving them. Meanwhile the Nine Divines do fuck all.
NPCs are very clear about this when the issue is brought up.

Not true at all. Playing as a "Good" character in Oblivion right now and most of the Daedra quests are benign (kill these necromancers/vampires/etc evil people) or just borderline cases like Sheogorath's silly prank.
There's only three quests that I considered outright evil so I didn't do them.
>Mephala, involving killing NPCs from two families and framing each other
>Namira, where you summon spirits to kill priests
>Molag Bal, where you corrupt some guy by baiting him into killing you
Even Clavicus Vile's quest isn't bad, you're just stopping someone obsessed with the sword who has killed countless people. Although I chose not to finish that one so I could keep weightless Umbra.

They don't do a damn thing. So why do we build big chapels and sit around and mumble, and ask them to save us from this and that? It's stupid. >thinks itโ€™s the Nine actually responding when you receive a blessing
Lmao. The Tribunal constructed their own shrines. The shrines work because people believe in them. There are probably equivalent shrines all over Tamriel in non-Imperialized provinces with everyone thinking itโ€™s their special interpretation of whatever god itโ€™s supposed to be thatโ€™s blessing them. When a peasant offers his finest bread to Mara and begs for healing he is essentially casting a spell.
The thing with the Daedra is not that they are active, because Aedra worship does work, itโ€™s that they are personal. When a Daedra favors you itโ€™s because a thing that is actually alive has its eyes on you, not some cosmic force given a name.

Whatever it is it worked in essentially the same way that the Imperial Cult shrines did. They even had equivalent spells like Intervention. The Imperials even said that the Dunmer religion is an imperfect interpretation of their divines, like how Hindus sometimes say that gods of other religions are still valid. If someone in Hammerfell prays to Tall Papa in the same way they probably receive the same blessings. The Aedra are overrated because we mostly see games where the Imperials have shoved their interpretation of them down everyone's throat.

Maybe he was coping and that the heart woudn't get destroyed and therefore he and the stone ( or was it shit ? I remember reading somewhere it was litteral shit, maybe a metaphor or something) would remain in place. So by not ordering it being destroyed, he doomed his own people for a second time. The correct answer in TES is to not worship anything. But if you must, choose the Aedra. They are the least powerful and less likely to fuck you over.

Any time mortals meet the divine guys in TES, it ends bad for the mortals. If you can live your life without getting their attention, you won.

I disagree. Even if they effectively powerless compared to deadras who roam freely, i think it's still fair for men and mer at least to venerate them, as not only their ancestors, but as the creators of everything. Even if they don't understand their true form. It's akin to praying to a god of fire ( aedra ) against an intergalactic evil being ( daedra ) in our world

Well, the entire world is basically his pet project. All the other divines would rather be floating in the gnostic divine soup or whatever, and are angry lorkhan tricked them into helping with his "constructing reality" hobby, and don't really care about anything in it except in ways that they can pass the time waiting for the world to end, and exert their power to feel in control.
Meanwhile lorkah actually cares because he's the one who built it, he's invested in his project.

True. But I always wondered what it was about his creation that zapped the gods powers away. It has to be something, because even the Daedra want in on it because they keep trying and failing to take over mundus

That's like saying without sunna you wouldn't have the sun raise every morning and so none of the plants would grow so you should show some worship to her.

There's more evidence he exists than any other god in TES. Other than maybe Akatosh but he's pretty closely connected to Lorkhan anyway.

Azura in particular seems pretty chill for a daedra, desu. Even most of the others aren't all bad all the time.

There really hasn't been any rhyme or reason behind the placement of 95% of the books.
Some are parts of quests so they are placed accordingly.
If you are going to play as a scholar just find a Library or a book seller.
I think the librarian in Skyrim has radiant quests to find rare books so that might fit your plan.
Other than that it is random.

Childhood is worshiping the deadra, because they have secret clubs, and giving you a sliver of attention and pittance powers when having a good day.
Adulthood is realizing that the Aedra are really there for us, and keep society and reality together without being destructive shitheads.

When Talos becomes the leader of a monotheistic religion the scouring of the daedra will be glorious.

They gave immediate real power. In term of min-maxing this is a wet dream.
