I don't know, guys. I jumped into this since I got a PS5 last week and even as a mediocre fighting game player it still feels like bum ass niggas who shouldn't be in my rank can still pull off Ws.
I got three perfects in a set over a modern Cammy and they still took a game because any sloppy remedial player can confirm three jabs and make you guess in the corner.

When i tried this game i started off trying to play very slowly and fundementally. Whiff punish, play footsies, anti air, poke, street fighter. But i couldbr win at all playing like that in this game, in SF5 i felt like the more patient i was the better i did, but that didnt seem to translate over to 6. Then i started just spamming drive rush, mashing ex reversals every other wakeup, and pressing heavy buttons in neutral without a care and went on a 20 game win streak.

I have come to the conclusion that capcom wants me to be retarded, they want me to be a stupid unga bunga gorillanigga baby brain and thats why the game is seemingly designed to reward such style of thinking

Did you enjoy drive rush? the game is about doing drive rush with your favorite street fighter character skin. Do you feel good being the drive bar? you are the drive bar btw, the character is just the skin because all of them are green goo monsters that can drive rush.

They do, it's on purpose and it happens to most new japanese fighting games. They specifically want you to mash on the one mechanic they added for you to go full monkey. They don't want a "hardcore player" audience, they want casuals and people that will buy DLC even if they leave right after trying it for 15 minutes. Capcom wants you to believe sf6 is the hottest fighting game out there because they've blown more money on its infinite fucking marketing and shilling than they ever did on developing it to be a good game.

Yeah because modern games are intentionally designed to make you go 50/50 over all genres.

The saddest thing was realizing that modern Arcsys despite raping and gutting their games…are still better than modern Capcom. I’d rather play a 1000 hours of Strive or Granblue than normal > slime > throw again in SF6.

Modern fighting games are going through the same "streamlining" that has affected the rest of the industry. But you can't go back to old games without hitting up discord, so everyone deals with it.
