I was never into Rare games but I had noticed over the years that while people would hold Nintendo-era Rare to an incredibly high regard there was a growing sentiment of "actually Donkey Kong 64 kind of sucked".

It's pretty good with the tag anywhere mod, but not great, no. Too many shit mini games and tedious sections. The good stuff in the mid to late game is strong, though.
