it was genuinely impressive how consistently they got terrible artists for Miku's cards, it was like they were doing it on purpose or something....

Mtg flavor text and naming is such a cringefest that putting literal weeb shit on cards somehow makes it less embarrassing, wow

Either they were doing it on purpose because they hate anime but were obligated by Hasbro to make the cards, or they thought Chinese american Tumblr artists and Japanese artists were the same because they're both "asian".
Even if you dont like it it was goddamn smart of Hasbro to take in franchises and make sets out of them. Especially if you have the monopoly to f the only actually playable and non just collectable TCG.

I started a few days ago and it's fun but it's not very f2p friendly.
You get a lot of free stuff from the tutorials and in your mail box, enough to mostly put together a good standard or commander deck, but after that you'll have to spend at least some money probably.

I feel like that's only true in person, 4 faceless, wordless players who only see each other as obstacles probably would be kinda annoying to play with.
Irl EDH is mostly kept fun by people having some degree of manners and good will towards each other imo.

You might be right. But also not having to focus on just one person is what makes the format fun to me.
Maybe this Brawl format is good but... who knows. I might end up downloading the game just to try it anyway.
