I'm still playing sunbreak. Trying to solo apex+afflicted diablos special investigation but I'm too trash to kill the apex within 5 minutes before the afflicted spawns.

Damn, Wilds really killed all discussion of this series on here, didn't it?

i think i enjoy rise more than world because clutch claw is such a boring mechanic and the visuals in world are shit, the graphics may be realistic but that doesn't make them good and the visual clarity is sometimes lost, impressive sometimes but annoying most of the time

Unironically as a Hammer main, I find that Wilds has the best Hammer gameplay in the series.
And the monster that are featured are very well done, and the environments are excellent. And the weather effects are very cool.
It's just everything else in the game that they needed to work on.
In my opinion they should have delayed the game so the first major update was in from the get-go, and both Mizu and Lagi were in day 1 as post-game monsters.

And they should have not gone so far in with the main quest and it's story. It should have been optional to do a story mode for Wilds. It overstayed it's welcome, and by the end of the game I ended up hating how they handled their story campaign in the game. There's was way too much restriction on hunts because of it.
And side activities.
They overhauled the endemic life in this game...yet there's no player home to customize and display your pets?
I mean we get this soulful camp mechanic with decent customization, but they couldn't be assed to figure out how to add endemic life to it?

I think Wilds has probably the best gameplay in the series, and the best environments, and probably the best enemy AI and movements. Armors and weapons were good. But man, everything else as a big letdown.

I played World for over 1000 hours. After that I webt back to beat Freedom Unite entirely solo. All quests and everything.
Then I played tri. Liked it a lot less, but finished the story. Was pretty short anyways.
Will start with Dos in the next days. I have no interest in Wilds or any Nu Monhun.
