Digital games are copied by the person who owns it, that copy is then uploaded to a sharing site and is free for people who want that copy. The original purchase still exists, the uploader uploading the copies still has theirs, no matter how many copies people download. We did this shit back in the 90s and 2000s with games like Age of Empires and Unreal Tournament. People did this shit with music on stuff like Limeware and Kazaa. Hell, Youtube still does this. People upload music that they didn't make on there all the time. Not sure if we just have an influx in tech illiterate gen alphas or if suits really have hijacked most of the board.
