Xbox Next Gen 2027
Xbox Next Gen 2027
md5: 1af0879fd8a0f917d4c4bdc1316d6967🔍
How will this supposed Xbox/PC hybrid next gen device even work? Will it have a toggle somewhere where it can quickly switch between full on desktop Windows and the regular Xbox console UI?

What about piracy?
What about stores like Steam?

If Xbox has access to incredibly popular PC games like CS and League, I think they might actually be able to pull something off here. If they can make these PC games run on their Xbox properly, I think they might actually be able to challenge Sony again.

Next generation's devices will both be desktop PC substitutes. PlayStation PC content will be locked to official hardware only for a year then available on all PCs. Xbox PC will just fully unify the Xbox brand as a PC software platform though it will continue to release games on Steam or other platforms on a case by case basis.
Both devices will be sold as PCs with gaming "modes" and marketed as better and simpler experiences than prebuilts and custom built PCs.
SKUs will vary in price from 750 dollars on the low end to 3000 dollars for the highest specs.

Imagine a very small device like a Mac Mini or Mac Mini Studio where you can easily toggle between regular console UI and full Windows similar to entering and exiting Steam Big Picture Mode. You can easily transport a device between your living room and your desk in your room or wherever.

PS6 can sell 40 million no problem thanks to COD/FIFA/GTA 6. Sony fanboys is at least 10-20 million or so, they're devoted. So 60 million. Xbox still has to fight an uphill battle because people will buy Switch 2 like crazy and a lot of people will still choose PS6.

This is not enough to convert PC gamers (back) to Xbox. PC is more than just fucking Steam or GOG. PC has a shit ton of freedom that Microsoft will need to implement in the Xbox. That shit needs to run 99% of Windows OS or it's DOA.

What it needs to be is a very compact PC that can do virtually everything a PC can, but with a dedicated button for a console UI so that it can be hooked up to a TV and be like an actual console.

And with that, I must ask, why get this next gen Xboxes and PS6 over a Steam Deck 2 that will cost significantly less than both with Steam built into it?

It'll run on a "gaming optimized" version of Windows 11, with an option to boot into a full Windows mode. It's specifically what Microsoft is doing with that Xbox Rog Ally. According to previews Microsoft's portion of the collaboration has been developing a version of windows 11 designed to be easily navigable with gamepad controls that is only running the necessities necessary for gaming and launching the storefront launchers people would want to play games from (meaning stuff like Windows explorer and shit isn't running in this instance to cut down on the technical burden running a full instance of Windows in the backgound does compared to gaming focused OS like Steam OS) It looks like Microsoft's plan is to just take that same approach and apply it to home system. Which was something they probably should have done years ago to begin with.

I already gave you the answers. Let me ask you the questions again:

Is the Steam Deck going to run the yearly CODs? Yes or No?
Is the Steam Deck going to run the yearly FIFAs? Yes or No?
Is the Steam Deck going to run Fortnite? Yes or No?

If the answer to any of these is "no", that automatically disqualifies it from being a normalfag alternative to the PS and Xbox. Steam Deck is not in competition with home consoles. It just isn't. It's in competition with other handhelds. Why the fuck are you talking about the Steam Deck?

It is, if you put all your shit on PC, making handhelds for game optimizations even ones that are equally as powerful as the original Steam Deck, what reason is there to get your overpriced crap when you can just play them a Steam Deck, a Steam Deck 2, a gaming Laptop, or a gaming PC? You shills are getting more retarded by the day. Xbox and PlayStation are dead and when the console wars loses exclusives, it's no longer a console wars because said console no longer exists.

Everyones overthinking shit.

PS6/NextXbox are both AMD machines using Ryzen+Udna like future PCs. but that's where the similarities end. Playstation has their own APIs and FreeBSD OS. Xbox is DirectX and Windows but both are custom to the version you find on PC like Xbox 360 was DirectX 9.5 and a mishmash between XP and Vista.

Next gen consoles will not start at $1000. Sony and Microsoft wouldn't ever be stupid enough to do something like that. It'll be around $600-700, which does make them more expensive. They'll get backlash for this, but people will come around and accept it. The same way people accepted the Switch pricing. They'd rather buy cheaper, weaker hardware and just make the consoles cheaper overall. Even if that means minimal graphical upgrades over the PS5/XSX. They need to get these consoles in as many hands as possible and make money from actual software sales. You don't make your next successor device 100% more expensive. You gradually up the price.

How are you going to subsidize the next Xbox if it's Windows, idiot? In terms of PlayStation, they're already selling the PS5 Pro for $700 with just Zen 2 RDNA 2. The PS6 is Zen 6 UDNA with 2nm, It's going to be way stronger than the Pro, that's not going to be a $100 difference with the Pro, that's either a $200 or $300 difference. Microsoft and Sony aren't really competing with one another anymore. You should expect them both to sell at a profit give Moore's Law is dead.

It'll probably be an Xbox frontend to accommodate purchased shit, with API to link other PC stores (Steam, Epic, etc.) and install their games, which will run in a container. Hell, Xbox runs games in a container.

>What about piracy?
Won't be a problem for the Xbox/MS Store side of things with this setup. That's really all they care about.

Let's explain it to third worlders South Americans, Southeast Asian, Indians, Eastern Europeans.
Console manufactured at a loss, the company hopes to get people to buy online subscription or buy games to become a positive. If you buy a PS5 and PS+ subscription, you're already making money for Sony. Or if you buy 2 games, especially digital or microtransactions. Still with me TURD WORLDERS who can't afford PCs or consoles?

What happens to Microsoft's business if they sell a CONSOLE PC hybrid that can launch Steam, effectively shooting their own foot so no one pays for online subscriptions anymore? Piracy too since they can just boot into Windows. What about the 30% share that Valve gets from Steam games sold, do you think Gabe Newell will say "Microsoft, take 5% of our 30% cut". Valve who is currently selling the Steam Deck btw, they have hardware they want to sell.

And 3rd worlders are like "yeah, this business plan makes sense. 500 dollars too, right". A 500 dollar prebuilt PC would be dogshit today. The Xbox Series X 2TB is a 730 dollars console and all digital. This isn't a charity for you third worlders SEA South America India East European monkeys, GamePass did such profound damage they have to put games on Playstation and Nintendo since Xbox's very tiny userbase can't even sustain the Phil Spencer master plan of renting hellscape.

Third parties like EA who spend money on making an Xbox port, only to see Xbox PC hybrid owners buy from Steam or pirate, how's that for good business? Gabe Newell would prefer you buy from him, without Microsoft middleman. Gabe Newell would also like you to buy a Steam Deck, not Xbox PC hybrid. All of Xbox Hybrid PC talkers are the dumbest shitstains of the internet. Valve didn't even lower their 30% cut with EpicStore lawsuit in their face, what makes you 3rd world parasites think Gabe Newell wants to share what Xbox PC hybrid buy from their Steam store with Microsoft's dying platform?

To Gabe Microsoft is just another publisher, who gives a shit. Xbox as a brand has been so down that you people genuinely believe they can strong arm Nintendo and Sony to put their games on Xbox PC hybrid or that GAbe has incentive to help them.

The price of a 4K capable GPU is close to 500-600 dollars. The price of a current era CPU that's you know, not dogshit, is close to 400 dollars. Check your Microcenter for deals. AMD low budget isn't that low anymore, costs went up. So for 3 basic computer components to build a console that's respectable, not even high end, you're at 1000 dollars between the CPU/Motherboard/GPU. And third worlders think Microsoft will do this at 500 dollars so that you don't pay them for online when you run off to Steam and give Gabe Newell money or you pirate.

Makes sense in my third world SEA India Eastern European Brazilian mind! Gabe Newell desperately wants you to buy their competitor's platform and not the Steam Deck and Ubisoft enjoys spending money on making 3rd party ports for Microsoft so that everyone runs off to Steam to buy those ports (which 0% Valve shares with Microsoft). All checks out in my turdie brain!
