>>713101716I debated this once briefly with an anon, so I'm not sure if you're referring to me or another, but if it was me, I never said it is normal to be foggy 3 feet from your face, I said it's common for large landscapes to not be clear when they are miles away from you, and that is because large amounts of moisture from the mountain trees, rivers and foilage are evaporating and you are seeing that hazy evaporation more clearly at a great distance. It's a fact of nature. You won't see it on rockier mountains as much but you will on grassy mountain/mountain ranges and mountains with a bunch of trees.
How accurately games are able to portray this effect is another debate, but they are attempting to replicate a real-life phenonmena. BotW probably does it better than most games, I would say. In fact most Nintendo games that have a large scale or scope do it really well.
