I played it on gamepass.
If you liked Eternal its fucked completely.
If you didn't like Eternal its still bad.
It was clearly designed with a vision, but the vision was bad, so there's no fixing it.
It tries to play like a grounded Eternal, and then heavily demands that you sit in front of the big enemies and parry them, meanwhile you have constant fodder spawns which you can't deal with appropriately because the big demon will swap to range rape mode if you so much as step a cunt hair away from its dick.
Then it slowed the weapon swap speed down so far, because of people complaining about it in Eternal, that you're basically stuck with whatever you have out when you start an encounter. Because swapping is both slow and disables the shield, which you are forced to use, because they don't give you the movement tools to not get assraped by projectiles without it. Because you're stuck with your weapon, they all have to be universally useful in all situations. So every weapon is either fast firing or AoE, and all have upgrades to deal with whatever they aren't good at initially. So they all feel samey. And you'll end up using either the base shotgun or the missile launcher for the entire game, because the shotty gives you free armor and the launcher gives you free health after a parry, which you will do constantly.
On top of all that, the music is completely garbage. It runs between so flaccid you don't even notice it, to actually annoyingly generic. The story is about a bunch of literal whos doing cosmic shit that doesn't matter because its a prequel, but they focus on it too much. The levels are complete grinds because they're so huge, or they toss you in a dragon turret or mech sequence randomly, which play about as engagingly as the old turret sequences in cowadoody.
Its just generally bad and step backwards from Eternal. Even if you DIDN'T like Eternal its worse than Eternal
