Crash 4 Its About Time was a bad game with bad art/story design direction, and fucking Wumpa Leauge showed us that the people involved should have no creative control at all in the franchise.

Crash 4 underperformed, not because it was ugly and badly designed though—you can always sell a turd at least once with good marketing—it undersold because it offered nothing new gameplay wise, content with playing-the-hits with corridor platforming and crate smashing.
Hardcore crash fans don't want to hear it, but gameplay has to evolve into something bigger and better for people to be hyped and buy a game. Crash 4 should've been more opened ended and given Crash a gun and a car driving segment if it wanted to sell.
