It also introduces Erika and Dlanor, who provide additional framework and context and on how to view the information we've gotten on top of being great characters. It's also when we really start peeling off the mask and exposing Bern's true character.

I share the common consensus that Answer Arcs aren't as good as the Question Arcs but I never get people calling them outright bad. 5 and 6 were nice changes of pace for the main episodic formula and 7 is a cool way to loredump. 8 is the only miss for me but it still has plenty of good in it.

Based take. Episode 7 is one of the best written loredumps in the entire VN medium, and Episode 8 hits so hard if you're actually on board with the emotional throughline. Most people just got filtered by the lack of a “mystery” structure and wanted another red-level logic battle, not closure or thematic payoff. You can tell who read the damn thing versus who skimmed summaries on Youtube.

I posted earlier itt that I kinda got bored by the end of episode 6, should I pick the story back up if the only thing I care about is Beatrice and Battler? It's hard to justify another 15 hours of reading this thing but I really like those two so if the game actually gives them an emotionally satisfying ending a la the Higurashi crew in its final episode then I might check it out. I already got spoiled on half of the game's "mysteries" so I don't really care about that.
