This game ended up being completely forgettable.

It had its moments like the singing pirhana plants but overall it was a weak entry into the series.

Mario just isn't a difficult platformer

NSMB Marios were always for kids.
My imouto enjoyed those a lot, and she talks about NSMB on Wii like it's her Mario 64. So I trust a lot of Gen A kids will talk about how nostalgic Wonder was when they're grownups.

Playable Daisy was nice, I hope the next 3D Mario has a character selection like 3D World and includes her.

It's "generically good", which is something the Mario series has been having a problem with as a whole.

It's the Mozart problem of always being consistently good to the point where it becomes predictable and boring.

Wonder Seeds kneecapped the level design hard, felt like there was barely any real platforming. Also I cannot remember a single song from the game outside of the opening stage music

i saw a clip and if that's the most impressive thing this game does then that's fucking sad, anyone could tell it was going to be shit from the trailers if they had half a brain because it looks like cheaply animated garbage

It was visually better than all the recent Mario platformers, but the lack of difficulty made it very forgettable. Weak level design, especially the wonder flower segments.

there hasn't been a 2d mario with good level design since the SNES games, everything from NSMB onward has been forgettable trash with zero identity, you can just speed through all the levels and ignore the platforming

there is no platforming

it's a platformer with no platforming, retarded floaty shit that gives you too many ways to get around actually needing to engage with the fucking game, when you can spin and float and stall out your momentum and cling to walls and walljump there are no such things as obstacles anymore unless it's some faggot kaizo shit

Splatoon is unironically good, but only because it's not popular enough to get ruined (yet). Pikmin 4 was fine. But saying Nintendo sucks NOW when MK8D only came out 8 years ago feels silly to me when I'd consider "good" Nintendo games to be from Gamecube going backwards.

started off strong than it just gradually decreases in quality. once you get into w3 the game just nosedives in enjoyment. Dropped it at w4.

Game had god awful bosses, and no one is going to remember any individual level.

>>713110087
Yeah they really should have limited Wonder Flowers to specific big levels. Whenever its optional to grab a wonderflower, the rest of the level is just really boring if you missed it

>>713110182
I like the snow level's music, that one still stands out.
And its all better than the BAH BAHs of NSMB

The music part is fucking criminal. Easiest example in my mind is just how low energy the athletic theme is.

It sounds like it should be the music for one of those one-screen bonus levels on the world map rather than an athletic theme. It sounds like groggily waking up in the morning

Maybe it's just that the 3D games always had better music but the final battle felt so anticlimactic in large part because the music was so Nothing. Was fully expecting a fakeout into the Real final battle and was deflated when the ending scene started playing

3D World and Odyssey spoiled me with their finales

Had the same problem as Odyssey, the difficulty curve was so gentle that the end of the game felt like it maybe jumped up to the difficulty of a second world in any older game.

it was too gimmicky. the NSMB games played more like real mario games but they all had the same generic art style.
