What's stopping you from just buying the original copy off of Ebay? My friends with money just buy the original copy because they say they don't get the "same feeling" when they emulate it.

It makes sense cause that exact same game is more fun to play on the OG console and disc/cartridge than an emulation you'll get bored of in 30 minutes

whats bad about playing the definitive edition of a game when you're the definitive™ edition of yourself?

Decomps are sick and I wish they were easier to do, playing something like OoT or MM at 60 FPS on native non-emulated hardware is nuts

This is the kind of bullshit you'd say if you're a dipshit normie who just installs the first random emulator they find on Google. Use the fucking wiki my friend: https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Main_Page

Emulation for 1-5th gen consoles has been good for over a decade, with the exception of N64 emulation which has only been good since the release of ParaLLEl RDP 5 years ago.
As for 6th gen, GameCube/Wii emulation has also been good for nearly a decade. PS2 emulation has been good for around 2 years.
Anything past that it's hit or miss. PS3 emulation is still kinda bad. But Switch emulation is surprisingly good considering how recent the console is.

If you disagree with anything I've said then you use the wrong emulators and/or your PC is bad.

You can't just use a blanket statement saying emulating older games is shitty if you won't specify how old the games you're emulating are.
MOST console generations can be emulated pretty much flawlessly these days.
7th gen is when games started to become moviegame slop anyway

>flawlessly
lmao
Emulation that limits modding, can barely handle widescreen hacks and fps higher than 30 is pretty shit and no way at all definitive. I could name so many games that have issues, don't even pretend they don't exist.
Not even counting how shit Xbox/Xbox 360, PS3 and beyond emulation is, which is just thousands of games being handwaved away as "a blanket statement".

Most of the emulators for the major consoles have options to let you overclock the emulated CPU which eliminates the framerate issues you mentioned. Also you can upscale the internal resolution in literally every emulator for a 3D console I've ever used.
And don't act like there isn't a modding community for emulated games, it's huge.

I don't though. Decompilation can be done in browser now, collaboratively.

Tell that to Pikmin 2. Character/enemy animations are locked at 30fps.

Never mentioned resolution once.
>And don't act like there isn't a modding community for emulated games, it's huge.
It's also hugely limited to abiding by the constraints of an emulator, which isn't an issue with a proper PC port.
