It worked for RE7 because they went for the good ole Texas Chainsaw Massacre/Silent Slop style. An OG RE character would simply laugh at that setting and blow Eveline and Jack off in 10 minutes.

He doesn't work for RE8 with him boss hunting and wiping out Village werewolves and other BOWs, they turned him way too OP far beyond the original special forces characters.

I always wanted DMC but just the FPS underwater sections. Then RE8 came along and gee golly I'm plum floored.

why didn't re add a left 4 dead style of game? i don't follow the franchise but horde zombie games were a thing in the late 2000s and early 2010s...
